Reconciling Faith and Sexuality

Four years ago I had two of the biggest changes in my life....first I resigned from ministry, second I came out to myself as a gay man. I thought that not only would mean an end to ministry for me but also would also be an end to my faith. However throughout my journey I found God faithful and felt his presence even at times when I thought this would be highly unlikely. I also found that like my sexuality my faith was a part of my identity and could not deny or ignore. I began to attend an MCC church and began the roller coaster journey of discover authentic faith and began tearing down the shame and untruths that religion had built up in my life. Recently God has began to deal with me about returning to ministry with its focus being on the GLBT community. I am a living example of Christ's willingness and ability to restore the faith and spirituality of anyone who is willing to put their trust in His unfailing Love. I hope that my journey can help others....

1.) He will meet you where you are....

2.) Open your heart and life to Him

3.) Put your Trust in Him knowing he has a plan for your good. (Jeremiah 29:11)

4.) Express any anger or frustration to Him..(even if it is directed toward God, he understands and will not reject you, but instead will bring healing and peace.

It is a journey with lots of ups and downs and brings up a lot of emotions but it also brings great rewards....Hang in there!!!
