Who is the Lost?

Jesus came to seek the lost. But who is the lost? Many would say it is the sinners or those who don't know or have relationship with God. Although I see their point and that definitely applies I think that view is too narrow. Once again we see the church's use of an us/them mentality.

What does it mean to be lost? If you don't know where you are or how to get where you need to be you are lost. There are many people who are lost. They have lost purpose, direction or their identity. Jesus is seeking everybody who is lost. I have found myself many times where I have felt disconnected, adrift and just plain lost. I still had faith in God but I just didn't know what to do, where to go. For all intent and purposes I was lost. Jesus is looking for just this kind of people. He desires to give our lives purpose, direction and a real connection to God, ourselves and others.

Faith is not meant to be an individualistic journey but one that is a part of a greater community. If you are or feel lost...I have good news for you....the search party is out looking for you....listen closely and you will hear the voice of Jesus the leader of this party calling out your name...he is seeking you.....call to him and he will answer.
