My Pastor began a new sermon series on the book by John J. McNeill called "Taking A Chance On God". This just happens to be one of my favorite books, because it saved my life in several ways a couple of years back. My pastor back then recommended this book, to me and it gave me a fresh perspective on faith, God and myself. When I saw that the church was planning this series, I found the box in my closet, ( no pun intended ) and began to read the book again. Wow, the difference a few years makes. I have been so blessed and challenged by this new reading. I will no doubt be sharing some of the insight, I gain in the weeks ahead.
I have been struggling a bit of late and this new Awakening came just in the nick of time, just like God to show up with a fresh spirit wind to refresh my faith and empower my life journey once again. I have posted a link to the youtube vid of Pastor Lea's first part of the message today. I thank God for her commitment to her calling and the commitment of MCC to provide a home for people like me!
