I heard a stat yesterday, that has given me hope. 70% of the world's population is 30 and under. This brings hope when it comes to Prejudice, GLBTQ rights, racism, ....etc. Because most young people, look at the world much differently than most of their elders. The election here in the states of late, for me, demonstrates this hope. Things are a changing.
There is a shift, in the way we define us. Us no longer means just those in my house, or of my color. We, includes all. Technology has don't much to make the world family much smaller. It has made the "we" include a lot more, while making contact and sharing much easier. We are no longer dependent on just the news media, or governments for ideas and information to be shared. Twitter, Facebook, You-tube, and other media outlets are allowing people to share their own stories and ideas directly. This is bringing about a revolution of ideals that can not be held back. Freedom is about freely sharing, our ideals.
That is why this stat brings me hope. This is why I am an optimist. This world has its problems, but most of these come from the old way of thinking. There is a shift happening!
