2013- The next step is Trust!
Today I read a post By Gina Lake which I include here:
"The ego is forever fearful of the future. That is its job, after all. But these fears interfere with our happiness in the present moment and prevent us from seeing the truth about life, which is that life is supporting us and bringing us everything we need for our evolution and growth, both as individuals and as a society. Life is good and benevolent, but fearing and believing that life is not benevolent creates the experience that life is to be feared and not trusted. This is an illusion. If we stay in the present moment, we discover life's beauty, benevolence, and bounty, and we find ourselves naturally acting and moving in the world in a way that brings us fulfillment and in a way that is in alignment with the Whole and which can heal those who are out of alignment with the Whole. Happy New Year!"
This really resonated with my Spirit, because I was searching for the word that I would embrace for 2013. Instead of resolutions, I took the advice of Robert V.Taylor and chose a word to embrace as my theme for this new year. This word for me is "Trust".
Last year the word was "surrender". Trust is the next step after surrender. After you surrender your fears, doubts and plans- you must then allow God to do the work in your life, to bring about the Life you were meant to have. This takes Trust. In order to walk out the Journey, God has planned, you must leave all of you self on the Altar in order to be altered!
As I think about this kind of trust and surrender, I cant help but think of the movie, I watched with my daughter last night. The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The image I see is when the sun would break through the clouds and Timothy would lift his arms to bask in the sunlight. This is a great picture of surrender, trust and openess to the Love and provision of God.
