Trust Love in action

Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (1 Peter 5:6, 7 AMP)

This morning during my devotional time this verse really resonated with my spirit. When we understand that we bring all of our worry, fear, doubt to God, this is the act of humility that God desires. This is done, not because God is God and you better humble yourself. No, in the understanding of God's Love, and caring for us, and his desire to care for us, in every detail in life, this truth is humbling, we willingly bring our fear, doubt, worry to the Altar and submit and cast them to God. When we place these on the Altar, then God alters (changes) them.

Our fears, doubts and worries are powerless in the presence of God's Love. All our needs are already met in Christ, because he first loved us. Are we willing to surrender them to God, and place our trust in his Love.

I used to read this verse and think, I can cast my cares on God, because he cares for me. In my mind, I thought, because God has warm caring thoughts and emotions toward me, I can give him my cares. But in fact what God is saying, Is you can give me all your fears, worries and concerns, because I will take care of them and you. God's care here is not warm emotions, or thoughts toward you only, but it is love in action. If I tell you, to give me something and I will care for you, I mean I will take care of your every need. God is the ultimate caretaker. He attends to every detail. This is love in action and it is something you can trust.

( I recognize that God has no gender, and that the pronoun of him, his and the like my offend some. This is not my intention, but there are times in writing that I feel I need a personal pronoun to express the personal action of God. God is God and neither male nor female, but is both, and all and is the divine parent! )
