Now let me begin by first saying what I am not saying. I am not saying we are God, as if on an individual basis, any person can be God. I like the illustration Wayne Dyer uses about the Ocean. In his illustration he says, let's call the ocean God. With all it's beauty and power. Now if you take a cup and dip it into the ocean, you have some ocean water in a cup. But to say the cup contains the ocean or for our purpose God would be absurd. however the water in the cup did come from the ocean (God) and so has a lot in common with God. We humans are the same, we are created in the likeness of God, we are cups of God, if you will. To say I am from God, or that I am a son of God, is not absurd, but to say I am God, would be.

Now that I have that said, let me say, that there are things that we are one with God on. Truth is truth and cannot be separated. Love is love and cannot be separated. Life is life and cannot be separated from God. These are all things that are as much our essence as they are God's. Our Spirit and or Soul is made up of God's Life. Jesus called this eternal life, or in the Greek "Zoe" which means the God kind of life. We where created to live a higher life than just the natural animal life we share with all creatures. We were created for relationship with God and to flow in God's Love, Life and spirit. Which all three of these are the same.

This kind of living is living connected. This is the kind of life that brings us joy, peace for it is this kind of living that fulfills our purpose. Being one with God, is not about being God's equal. It is about living in right relationship with God and understanding that we all have this purpose and birthright. This is not about religion but about Life. This is what God wills for each of us. God cannot be divided, into race, religion, gender or any other labels that we put on one another. God is God, God is Love, God is Life and God desires to share the divine with us.

I am only a branch or a cup of the divine. My source of Life, Love is only possible through my connection with the whole. Thankfully, God has made a way for me to know and enjoy this connection with God's very self. This relationship is based on my awareness of this connection. Through the way made by Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit into Truth, I am becoming more aware of this relationship and it's benefits for my life and the lives I touch.
