Right or Love Part 2

Yesterday, I shared the quote, " You can be right or you can be happy" ACIM

So many choose the former. Many of them get to live in their rightness, in their relationships, religion, friendships and work. However, they miss out on the importance of their purpose. We were created for love. To give and receive love. I am not speaking of the illusive Hollywood version, that can be lost at every change of the stories soundtrack but real love, that we have in our hearts. Many seek to find this love, but this love is not found without, but is within. When we align with our purpose, to give this love, we find true peace and our reason for life.

How can I show love today? In every relationship. Whether it be the clerk at the store, the waitress at lunch, that fellow employee, the boss, that abrasive relative. Showing love can be as simple as a smile, kind word or appreciation or support, or telling someone how much they mean to you.

Being right, gives us reasons not to show love. They are the wrong (religion, sexual orientation, political party, denomination, etc,) if they would only admit I am right. Being right takes a lot of energy, self righteousness, pride, and self-delusion. Have you ever been around someone who can't be wrong? They are exhausting, and they are usually the only one who thinks they are never wrong.

There have been areas in life, that I thought I was absolutely right about, only later in life to learn, oops, I was wrong. Now I acknowledge I may be wrong about many things, but I am happy. I am judged daily by people who think I am wrong and they are right. However to be right, you first must judge. We are commanded to Love, and we are also commanded, not to judge. Oops again, I guess there went everyone's rightness. God is Love, and as the only one who can judge, God still chooses to love and forgive. So how can anyone, set themselves as higher than God. Only the ego would dare.

So, again I choose to be happy, instead of right. I may not agree with you on many issues. However, I may be wrong, or you may be right. But instead of wrestling it out, let's just be happy and love one another and let God sort out the rest.
